December 29 - The May's Visit
Neal, Melissa and Adam visited us and stayed for a New Years celebration.
Julie hasn't been feeling well and it has been rainy, but we were still able to do some fun stuff.
We checked out this old western town in Scottsdale called Rawhide. We needed to buy
tickets for the attractions, so we just walked around looking at things instead.
The Mays treated us to dinner at Outback Steakhouse.

December 27 - Mom &
Gavin's Visit
Mom and Gavin flew into Phoenix to visit us for a few days. This was
Gavin's first plane trip. We went to Black Angus for dinner and had a
great time. Some of us have been under the weather, but we have still managed
to have a good time. We've played ping pong, board games and watched lots
of movies. Pictures
December 25 - Christmas Morning
We got to Arizona around 9:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve. We stayed up late
watching a movie so we slept in Christmas morning. We finally woke up
around 10:00 and went downstairs to open presents. We got lots of DVDs and
other cool presents. Julie fell asleep after presents because she's been a
sick little puppy. Thanks to Shelly we had a great Christmas dinner with
potato casserole, tri-tip, and homemade rolls. One of Julie's Christmas
presents came a little late, but it was worth the wait.

December 20 - Christmas at
Mom Harrison's
Gavin wanted to open just one present so Mom said we could all pick one
present to open. Bret's first gift was socks, so she told him to open
another one. Well, since Bret got to open another one, then everybody else
opened another one, until we had opened all our presents. Mike
and Milka had come by and Gavin had stayed the night, so it worked out perfectly
because we were all together.

December 18 - Gage Family
Christmas Party
The 27th Annual Gage Family Christmas Party was held at the Fresno State
Institute building. This was Dad's year to be in charge so we got to come
early, and stay late. We had 85 people in attendance and tons of fun!

December 16 -
Peachwood Friends Get Together
We went out to Logan's Roadhouse with the Pehrson's, Papa's, and Gage's
(Kevin & Mariah and Paul & Krista). We had lots of fun visiting with old
friends and hearing about all the latest news. Congratulations to Russ &
Amber who are starting their family and to the Papa's who twins are 8 months
old! Pictures

Family Progressive Dinner
This Saturday we celebrated Christmas with our 6th annual progressive
dinner. We started at Michael's and Mechelle's house in Hanford with
appetizers. Then we proceeded to Tad's and Jennifer's house for potato
salad. We then had fajitas at Mom and Dad's and dessert and gift
exchanging at Paul's and Krista's.
Due to Julie's forgetfulness by the end of the night, we didn't get a picture of
every family, sorry. Afterward, we went with Tad and Jennifer to check out the Christmas lights near
Willow and Alluvial. It was a fun night.
December 3 - FHE Progressive Dinner
We had our 2nd annual FHE progressive dinner Friday night. We started
at our place with appetizers. Then we went to the William's for salad, the
Smithhart's for main dish and the May's for dessert. We had a good time
and Neal enlightened us with some new terminology.
Check out the pictures.
If we ever do it again, we'll have a "regressive dinner".
November 25 - Thanksgiving in Phoenix
We spent this last Thanksgiving in our new house in Goodyear! It was
good to be there again. Dad and Lynette also came from Fresno to visit
(and help us move more stuff). Grandma Donna came over for dinner as well.
Julie made her first turkey with Lynette's help and everything turned out great.
But where are the mashed potatoes?
It was very fun. We went shopping Friday and Saturday and discovered the
"Costco Home Store". We also received our new Arizona drivers licenses,
so we are now official Arizonans.

November 20 - Crystal Palace
This weekend we drove to Bakersfield to visit Cory and Shelly and the kids.
Saturday night we went to dinner at the Crystal Palace. (If you haven't
been there before, we highly recommend it.) We had a blast. The
restaurant settings make you feel like your outside and the live band was
amazing! We also had fun visiting Zachary, Rachel and Nathan. They
are very cute and we already miss them.
(Pictures) October 29 - Happy Halloween!
We had
fun at our ward harvest social! Bret and the young men were in charge of
making a haunted house. Dave and Becca Smithhart helped out a great deal
with the construction of it. (Thank you!) Neal and Melissa May
visited from Van Ness. Bret was dressed like Charlie Brown and Julie was
dressed as a fisherman. It was a good time.
October 9 - Happy
Birthday!
Today is Julie's birthday. The big 25! She drove in from Phoenix
just in time to celebrate. Bret had come back October 3rd for school and
work. Julie stayed until just before her birthday. October 1 - Arizona or Bust
We loaded up the U-haul Friday morning and the plan was to leave at
3:00. Mom and Mike, and Bryce came to help us too. We finally left at 7:00 and with our speedy U-haul, it only took us 12
hours to get there.......... September 26 - Paige's Blessing
We drove down to Porterville with the Smithharts for Paige Williams'
blessing. Paige is of course the cute little daughter of Bryce &
Michelle Williams. We got to church a little early and were sitting there
when Aunt Loretta walked over. I had no idea that was her ward. Bret
said "I think it's official, you really do have family every
where." After church we went back to Bryce's parent's house for some
lunch, after all it was Fast Sunday. September 10 - We got the keys!
We left Fresno late Thursday night for our Friday morning 9:00 appointment
with the title company. We thought we knew where we were going, but ended
up being late to our appointment. We signed all the paperwork, about a
million signatures each, and got the keys. We drove back to the house and
started unloading the van and within 10 minutes of getting there, the delivery
truck showed up with our bedroom furniture. We unpacked some storage bins
of kitchen stuff and I made fajitas for our first dinner in the new house.
Bret put up 7 ceiling fans in 5 hours, which isn't too bad, but he didn't start
until 9:30 p.m. (Check out the pictures) We had all the windows measured for blinds and they will
be installed on Monday after we leave. Our new living room furniture is
also being delivered on Monday. We left a key with our great neighbors who
have been a tremendous help! We also went to our new ward for the second
time and still love it! However, we did miss Sunday School because Bret
forgot to get a sub for his Deacons. We had to go out and call somebody in
Fresno but we had to drive a ways before finally getting reception. September
3 - The Walk Through
We left late Thursday night and got to Grandma Donna's around 7:00 a.m., took
showers, then drove out to the house for our 9:00 walk through. We met
with Bob the superintendent and spent two hours going through the house.
We forgot to take pictures, so when we were done we stayed there for another
hour taking pictures and just hanging out.
(Check out the pictures) No major problems were found
and everything looked great! Can't wait to be there for real. Our
ward meets out in Buckeye at 8:00 a.m., that is so early. September 13, 2004 - Welcome to our new website! |
