December 31 - Fun, Fun and More
Fun
Bret has been home all week and we have done lots of fun stuff as a family.
We've spent time playing football and soccer at the park, but Kristen's favorite
thing to do is run wild. We got a trailer for the bike so now we can go on
bike rides all together. We went to the east side of town to Makutus, an
indoor play place where Kristen could run around, crawl through tunnels, and
have a great time. After living here for two years, we finally went to the
Phoenix Zoo. Kristen loved it and especially enjoyed seeing her favorite
animals. One of her favorite things there was "Harmony Farm" where she
could ride a tractor. She had to stop at every tractor we saw and drive
it. The weather was pretty cool that day and the sun finally peeked
through the clouds right when we left. Our poor little girl has been sick
the last few days, and we're praying she'll get better soon so we'll be able to
go to Fresno for a visit. We celebrated New Year's before Kristen went to
bed, and are looking forward to what 2007 has in store for us.

December 25 - Merry Christmas
We had an awesome Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! Lucky me, I got to
give a talk at church and then we had a great dinner. We followed all our
Christmas Eve traditions and Kristen paid attention some of the time. We
went to bed and when we woke up Christmas morning, Santa had come. We
opened stockings and Kristen loved her slinky as soon as she saw it. About
half way through opening presents, Kristen started to get bored. She laid
down amongst the gifts and then started running to the family room to get her
slinky. Santa was very good to us this year, (after all, we've been very
good kids) and we appreciate all the gifts from family. Kristen is quite
the kisser. She loves to kiss everyone and everything. When we're
out in public she isn't close enough to anybody so she blows kisses, but she
loves kissing her books, stuffed animals, pictures of Jesus and Mommy & Daddy
(we love kissing her too!)

December 23 - Christmas Traditions
We have been following some Christmas traditions from past years, and
started a few new ones. We went to the temple to see the Christmas lights
and Kristen loved every minute of it. Well, except for when we tried to
pick her up. She loves the freedom of running around. We built and
decorated a ginger bread house and Kristen was a big help... at making a mess.
Kristen has also shown us how much fun she has with packing materials and that
she doesn't even need presents.

December 14 - Family Fun Time
We have been able to spend some time with Daddy the past few weeks and
Kristen loves every minute of it. Two weeks ago for Daddy/Daughter time he
took her to a soccer game, played at the playground and then out to lunch. Last
Saturday we all went to the Rain Forest Cafe. She's been before, but
now she actually knows what an elephant and gorilla are, so we wanted her to see
them. Kristen has done pretty good leaving the tree alone, it's the
presents under it that interest her. She hasn't tried to open any, she
just likes to pick them up and bring them to me. She likes wearing her
shoes, but when she wants to show what a big girl she is, she wears mine or
Daddy's shoes. She is quite the little
star and keeps us well entertained. Here are a few videos so you can see
how big she is getting and some of the stuff she knows. As for the new
baby, we will find out on January 2 if it's a boy or a girl, check back to see.

November 25 - Happy Turkey Day
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We started off early watching Bret
play football in the Turkey Bowl and Kristen enjoyed playing outside. We
had a relaxing morning of playing with toys and Daddy, and had a yummy lunch.
The day after Thanksgiving we bought our Christmas tree and then decorated it.
Kristen wouldn't get too close to the Christmas trees at the lot, but once we
got it home and inside, she liked it a lot more. Especially now that it
looks so pretty and even has a few presents under it. While we were out we
stopped at a cotton field down the street to show Kristen the cotton close up.
Once again, she didn't like getting too close, but once in the van, she loved
playing with the cotton boll we picked. We had some family pictures taken
back on our anniversary and have posted those also.

November 20 - Almost Thanksgiving
We celebrated our six year anniversary on the 11th by going to the temple.
We had a great evening out and still enjoy being together. Alan and
Lynette came for a visit that weekend and got to to see how much Kristen has
grown. Bret has been busy working so there have been some late nights.
Kristen and I just stick to our routine, but Kristen misses Daddy when she
doesn't get to see him. She has started a new tradition when he
comes home to run up to him with her arms spread open and give him a big hug.
It is the cutest thing to watch. We'll be here for Thanksgiving but will
be thinking of all our family and friends who are away from us.
October 31-November 1
- Halloween at Disneyland
Kristen and I went to Disneyland with Haylie & Rylie for Halloween. We
had a great time and the weather was perfect. It was fun to see so many
kids dressed up, Kristen was Minnie Mouse, and Rylie was Tinkerbell. The
lines were so short that we got to go on lots of rides.
There were some great Halloween decorations up, but half were already gone on
November 1st. Can't wait to go again!

October 30 - Happy Halloween
We've had a fun Halloween already and it's not the 31st yet. I took
Kristen to the pumpkin patch for pictures, but she didn't cooperate too well.
She didn't like sitting on the bales of hay, but liked all the hay on the
ground. She picked out a little pumpkin for herself. Kristen is
going to be Minnie Mouse for Halloween, and she's already dressed up a few times
for pictures and a party. We went to a Halloween party and Bret carved a
great pumpkin.

October 16 - Monday Night Football
Bret got tickets to the Cardinals vs. Bears game tonight. It was a
very exciting game with the Cardinals leading at the half 20 - 0. But they
couldn't keep things together as the Bears won 24 - 23. We had a great
time and the new stadium is really nice. Also, last Friday night we
enjoyed a concert in the park. We got there for the last hour and brought
Subway for dinner. Kristen enjoyed dancing and listening to the music, but
she especially loved eating her cookie. She has pretty much mastered the
art of walking and walks all over the house.

October 11 - Our Due Date Is...
I'm a few days behind, but here's the latest. Over the weekend was my
primary activity day recognition dinner. It is all I had focused on over
the last two weeks, so I'm glad I can get back to normal now. Bret was
such a huge help to me that night and Kristen did a pretty good job of
entertaining herself and staying out of trouble. On my birthday Kristen
and I decorated the house for Halloween. She really likes the pumpkin that
makes noise and a little stuffed witch. When Daddy got home, we celebrated
by going out to dinner at Black Angus. It was really yummy and Kristen was
pretty well behaved. Today I went to the doctor and got a due date of May
29, 2007. So far I haven't been sick, a little nauseous but no throwing
up, yeah!

September 25 - Adam/Laura?
Just found out today that we're pregnant! We asked Kristen if she was
excited to be a big sister and she shook her head no. We're really excited
to have a new addition joining our family in nine months.
September 18-20 - Disneyland!
We made a trip to Disneyland and met Grandma & Grandpa and Jennifer & Hannah
there. We were there two and half days and went on lots of rides and took
lots of pictures. Kristen enjoys it more each time she goes, although she
doesn't smile on command anymore. Kristen's favorite was "The Enchanted
Tiki Room". She loved watching everything around her and would shake and
dance to the music. She also got really excited when we would see one of
the characters. When she was up close all she would do is stare, but from
a distance she would point at them, smile and clap. Since Kristen loves
balloons we got her a Minnie Mouse balloon and tied it onto her stroller.
She loved playing with it and at the end of the second day, it flew away, so she
tried to steal Hannah's from her. We were able to get another one and
Kristen was thrilled to once again have her Minnie balloon and she would hold on
tight so Minnie couldn't fly away. We had a great time being with family
and we always love being at Disneyland.

September 16 - Simple Things
It seems sometimes that it's the simplest things that make Kristen happy.
Her new favorite thing to play with is Mommy's sandals. She puts one on
each hand and takes them all over the house. She also enjoys our trips to
Costco because that always means there will be a box to play with when we get
home. She is getting really good at entertaining herself and keeping busy.
She is also full of lots of fun sounds. Where does she learn these things?

September 10 - Time
is Fun When You're Having Flies
Kristen seems to be learning more and more every day. She practices
walking in the evenings when Daddy is home. One of her favorite places to
play is in the pantry, and to pull the boxes off the shelves. And if she's
really lucky she can get into the refrigerator when Mom opens it and pull the
fruit and yogurt off the bottom shelf. Kristen got new pajamas and was
very interested in getting the sheep on her feet. She is such a joy to be
around and we love watching her learn and grow.

September 1 - First Steps
Kristen took her first steps today! Three consecutive steps all by
herself. Now the trick is to get her to do it again. She also
climbed onto the couch all by herself for the first time. I think it's the
beginning of the end. Kristen opened up a birthday package from Grandma
Dee with presents. She now has a new friend Duck that goes with her
everywhere. From Granddad and Grandma Harrison she got some really cool
books, including Mommy's favorite "The Poky Little Puppy." She loves to
read and always brings me books and sits down in my lap. She'll even sit
by herself and talk like she's reading and turn the pages. She has also learned how to go down the stairs much faster.

August 30 - Happy Birthday
Kristen!
I had a great day today! This morning I played with my birthday
balloon and searched around the house for hidden birthday pictures. Then
Mommy & Daddy took me to Target to get my picture taken. After my nap, I
opened presents. I really love all the new musical instruments Grandma &
Grandpa Gage got me. Mommy & Daddy got me some clothes (oh yea) and my own
cell phone. And the best part was when I got to eat my ice cream cake.
I had a wonderful day and thank you to everybody who sent birthday wishes my
way. Lots of Videos /

August 20 - Happy Birthday Day
Daddy!
We had a great day celebrating Daddy's birthday. We had blueberry
muffins in the morning, followed by Daddy searching around the house for hidden
presents. We went to church and then came home and had chicken & broccoli
for dinner and ice cream cake for dessert. We're glad his birthday fell on
a Sunday this year so we got be with him all day long.

August 19 - New Foods
Kristen has had lots of new foods recently. She is completely done
with baby food and only likes the real stuff. Her most recent experiences
are spaghetti, Oreos, raisins and a McDonalds Happy Meal. She's not always
the cleanest when eating, but it looks like she's having fun. Even if she
has just eaten, if Mommy or Daddy have food, she wants some too.
Pictures
August 12 - Lake Pleasant
We went along with Daddy on his campout to Lake Pleasant this weekend.
We got there and set up and camp and had a great dinner. We were up on a
point looking out on the lake, and after seeing the lightening storms all around
us heading our way, we decided to leave. We got back home at midnight and
the scouts slept over at our house. We went back to the lake Saturday
morning and had a fun time.

August 2-5 - Trip to Fresno
While Grandma Dee was here visiting we got a call that Grandpa Feaver had
passed away. So we made an unexpected trip to Fresno for the funeral.
We also went to Grandpa Feaver's house so I could take some pictures to
scrapbook some of my memories. While in town we visited family and Kristen
got to play with lots of her cousins. We are really glad that we were able
to be there with family. Kristen loves Grandma Gage's Disney clock that
goes off every hour. She looks up and smiles when she hears Mickey, Donald
and Goofy talking and then claps. Kristen is quite the climber and pulls
up on everything, which also means more falling down and crying, but she's a
tough cookie. Pictures
July 31- Don't Eat Pete!
Kristen's favorite part of Family Home Evening is playing "Don't Eat Pete".
I think she likes it because she gets to eat cheerios (Honey Nut of course).
When we first played it she did really well at just picking up the cheerios and
eating them. Then she began picking up the whole sheet and dumping the
cheerios on the floor. We got smart and taped the sheet down to a board so
she can't do it anymore, but that doesn't mean cheerios don't end up everywhere.

July 30 - Eleven Months Old
We have been having a great time with Grandma Dee. We went shopping at
Costco and Grandma bought Kristen a Giggle & Shake Elmo Chair. At first
Kristen wasn't too sure about it, but now she loves it. We went to the
Temple Visitor Center in Mesa on Saturday and then to Organ Stop Pizza for
dinner. We never could get Kristen to take a pacifier and so it ended up
in her basket of toys. She would chew on it sometimes, but the other day
she got it and actually sucked on it for a while. Bret had a meeting after
church today so we killed time taking pictures of Kristen. Grandma likes taking pictures of Kristen doing whatever.

July 24 - Playing Around
Kristen usually wakes up very happy and plays in her crib for a while.
We moved her mobile wear she can reach it if she stands up. Some mornings
she gets up and starts her music, and then lays back down. One of her
favorite things to do is climb into the drawer with her toys. Her other
favorite thing is to climb down the stairs if the gate is left open. I
still like to close the gate to keep her close by, but she can go up and down on
her own. Grandma Dee is here visiting and we are having fun playing with
her. Kristen was playing with the phone today and dialed "911111". I
wasn't sure if she had hit the talk button or not, but sure enough I got a call
from the city police to see if there was a problem. I apologized for my
baby calling them and she said it happens all the time. There must not be
too much crime in the city of Goodyear because a policeman came by just to make
sure. I learned a very important lesson today, don't let the baby play
with the phone.

July 8 - Scout Camp Adventures
Bret spent the last week with his scouts at camp. He had 11 boys
attend and everything went great. The camp is 2 1/2 hours away at about
5,000 feet, so the weather was a lot cooler and it rained almost every day.
Kristen and I went to visit him on Wednesday and had lots of fun. Kristen
didn't want to sleep and miss out on all the fun, so she only took one nap while
we were there all day, but luckily she slept the whole way home. While I
was there they went to the rifle range and then to the climbing tower, but had
to leave due to rain. It stopped raining about five minutes after we left
but they were already busy doing the obstacle course. Bret did really well
on everything. We're glad he had fun, but now we're happy to have him back
home with us! Pictures
July 7 - While Daddy's
Away
Kristen and I had some fun of our own while Daddy was gone to scout camp.
I put her in the high chair without her clothes on and let her feed herself.
She loves "Grandpa's Specialty Rice" and believe it or not, she did get a lot
into her mouth. For the 4th of July we watched fireworks on TV so we
didn't have to be out late and in the heat. We kept pretty busy but we
sure did miss Daddy.

June 30 - Ten Months Old
Kristen has been a busy little girl the last few weeks. She started
climbing up the stairs and loves to do it all the time. She has climbed
all the way to the top by herself, but hasn't quite mastered going back down
yet. Bret and the scouts went swimming for mutual this last week, so we
went with them. The water was nice and warm and because we went so late,
the sun wasn't beating down on us. Kristen has definitely learned how to smile when I pull out the
camera. All I have to do is say "Say Cheesers!" and she gives me a big
toothy grin. She has another tooth poking through on the bottom which
brings the total to 2 on top and 4 on bottom. I guess she needs all those
teeth so she can eat real food like Mommy & Daddy.

June 18 - Happy Father's Day
We had a wonderful Father's Day! Kristen helped me make breakfast for
daddy, we went to church, ate dinner and then we had ice cream cake. Aunt
Nedra & Uncle Don are on a road trip and stopped to stay the night with us.
We had a great time visiting with them and are glad they stayed with us.

June 3 -10 - Family Vacation
We went to Fresno for family pictures and stayed for a whole week.
(I'll post the pictures once we get them.) In addition to spending time
with family, we were able to spend some time relaxing. We spent a night at
Camp Sierra and enjoyed the cool mountain weather. Bret went golfing 3
times and loves it more each time. Jennifer, Tad & Hannah were visiting
from Georgia and Hannah liked to beat up on Kristen. We also spent a night
at the Feaver Cabin and Kristen got to see her first Giant Sequoia. While
we were there, Kristen started taking steps while holding onto the couch.
We stopped in Bakersfield for Cory's Birthday party and Kristen loved being
around lots of cousins.

May 22-24 - Disneyland FUN
We went to Disneyland with Mama Dee & Gavin and had a great time.
Gavin loved the roller coasters and Mom loved being all together. We got
some sprinkles on Monday, but by Wednesday it was pretty hot. (It was
actually 84 degrees, much cooler than in Goodyear.) It wasn't too busy so
we were able to go on lots of rides without spending forever in line. We
put some little stars (like cheerios but they dissolve in baby's mouth without
chewing) in Kristen's stroller and she loved being able to reach them and feed
them to herself. They didn't all make it in her mouth, but she is getting
better at it. We loved being at Disneyland and as always, we had a
wonderful time! Pictures
May 17 - Pool Time
There's a group of Mom's in the ward that meet at a nearby pool each week,
so we decided to go join the fun. Kristen really liked the water, as long
as I was holding her. She enjoyed kicking her feet and splashing around.
It's a great way to keep cool in the summer heat.
Pictures
May 16 - New Stuff
Kristen has gotten some new stuff recently. I've just started doing
her hair so we bought some pretty ribbon to put in it. We also got her a
new cup with a straw so she can stay hydrated through the Arizona summer. Also, Daddy picked
out a new outfit for her to wear at Disneyland. And the biggest purchase
was a new car seat. She is growing up so quickly and outgrowing all her
little baby things. We had a wonderful Mother's Day! Daddy made
breakfast and dinner and helped Kristen make me a card. It was the best
day ever!

May 7 - Eight Months Old
Kristen has been eight months for a week now, I'm just a little slow at
getting this updated. This last week Kristen started crawling and loves
being able to follow me around. She also spends time in her walker each
day while I'm cooking dinner and she loves the freedom of getting around really
fast. Although she could roll anywhere in the kitchen, she's usually right
at my feet. The high so far in Goodyear is reported being 99 degrees,
although our temperature gauge at home said 103. I guess that's what we
should expect, after all, it is May.

April 26 - Bath Time
Kristen absolutely loves bath time. It seems she can never get enough
of it because when ever we take her out she cries. She loves putting her
wet hands in her mouth trying to get a taste of the water. While she was
in the bathtub tonight, for the first time she clapped her hands on her own.
I was really excited, I wish I had the camera near by. Bret has been busy
working in the backyard installing the irrigation system. It will still be
a while before everything is done, but now at least we've started. I had
my first Activity Day yesterday and it was a success. Now that I've done
it once I'm not so scared.

April 16 - Happy Easter
We had a wonderful Easter! We woke up and followed some trails left by
the Easter Bunny. The Easter Bunny brought Kristen her own set of golf
clubs so she can be just like Daddy. We dyed Easter eggs and had a little
egg hunt. Kristen was really good at picking up the eggs, but they always
went straight to her mouth instead of in the basket. We went to church and
had a wonderful dinner when we got home. Last week I got a new calling as
the Activity Day Leader for 10-11 year olds. I'm looking forward to this
new experience and hope I can learn a lot. Lucky for me I still get to
play piano in Relief Society.

April 15 - Grandma & Shelly's
Visit
Grandma, Shelly, Zachary, Rachel and Nathan drove to Goodyear last week to
visit during spring break. We went shopping at Costco and Arizona Mills,
ate dinner at the Rain Forest Cafe, went to the Temple for the Easter Pageant,
had a picnic at the park, and visited the Wildlife World Zoo, (not all in the
same day.) We had lots of fun and they drove home Friday night. Bret
had a work party Friday night to celebrate the end of busy season, which is
funny because he had to work late all this week. For the first time we
left Kristen with our neighbors and this was also the longest we've ever been
away from her. The party was a lot of fun and I didn't think about Kristen
too much. Pictures
April 6 - Fresno Again
After returning home Bret found out he was going to San Francisco for a week
for work. We decided to make a trip out of it and he dropped me and
Kristen off in Fresno for the week. Kristen had fun playing with cousins
and grandparents. Aunt Krista had been dreaming about doing Kristen's
hair, so we indulged her. We've been home almost a week now, I'm just a
little slow with the updates. Kristen is very mobile and rolls all over
the place, she even rolled under the day bed, but I don't think she liked it.
We are preparing for Grandma Gage & Aunt Shelly & kids to come visit over the
next week. I know we'll be having lots of fun!

March 24 - New and Exciting Things
Kristen has been doing many new things recently. She doesn't crawl
exactly, but she manages to get what she wants. We have also upgraded from
rice cereal to green beans and will soon be adding other new foods. We
have also given her a little sippy cup which she puts in her mouth, but instead
of sucking on it, she usually bites down on it. Life is going great and we
love our little family.

March 8-10 - Disneyland Vacation
We went to Disneyland & California Adventure with Grandma & Grandpa and
Jennifer & Hannah. We started at Ca Adventure and saw the Aladdin Musical
Spectacular then rode on the new Monsters ride, Mike & Sulley to the Rescue.
We had lunch then headed over to Disneyland. That evening we sat near the Plaza Inn
eating ice cream and waiting for the parade to start. They had a cast
member playing the piano, so Bret took Kristen a little closer so she could
watch and then he invited her up on stage to play with him. He played "You
Have the Cutest Little Baby Face" Michael & Mechelle and kids arrived
at the hotel that night. On Thursday we went on lots of rides at Disneyland and Michael got
soaked on Splash Mountain. In addition to the rides, Bret and I were
searching for the 50 Golden Mickey's hidden throughout the park. On Friday we started at CA Adventure and we got
to see Goofy. It started to rain so we pulled out the umbrella and
ponchos. The rain didn't last very long, but it remained very cold and
windy all day. We went back to Disneyland while the others watched
Aladdin. We were waiting for them at the front of Main Street when Cruella
DeVil came out and sat next to me. Can you believe she wanted to buy
Kristen and make fur out of her? Kristen sat on Cruella's lap as she
talked to her for several minutes. Everybody caught up to us as this was
going on and then we went on some more rides and ate dinner before Michael's
gang headed home. We stayed and watched Fantasmic which was really awesome
and then we drove home. I had started getting sick when I was in Fresno, but
since I was at Disneyland, I felt great and was happy as can be. I just renewed my annual pass
so we look forward to visiting Disneyland again!

March 4-7 -
Fresno Vacation / Zoo
We went to Fresno and started our visit with a trip to the Zoo. We
went with Shelly & Cory, Kevin & Mariah and Jennifer, and of course all their
kids. Kristen got to see lots of animals and enjoyed hanging out in her
backpack. On Sunday we went to Jet's baby blessing (Paul & Krista's) and
then to Matthew's baby blessing (Kevin & Mariah's). We enjoyed being with
family and watching all the cousins play. We made the rounds visiting
everybody before heading south for Disneyland.

March 2 - Six Months Old
Kristen went to the doctor today and he said she's doing great. She
weighs 16 lbs 4 oz and is almost 27 inches tall. She got 3 shots that she
wasn't really happy about, but she survived. We did a little photo shoot
of her at six months. We can't believe how the time has flown and how she
has changed our lives.

February 25 - Kristen Eating
I think we're cursed, Bret went golfing again this last week. It has
been really nice having him home in the evenings and around on the weekend.
Kristen had rice cereal for the first time and did really well (sorry the video
came out so dark). I think she's going to like eating real food.
We're looking forward to seeing everybody when we come to town next week.

February 18 - Hanging Around
This was Daddy's last week on the audit so his team celebrated by going
golfing Friday. It was Bret's first round of 18 holes, and he had a great
time. He had a campout and merit badge round up this weekend with the
scouts and is excited about having more time for scouting. Kristen and I
have just been hanging out at home. Kristen now rolls from her back onto
her stomach, so now I can't just lay her down anywhere. She's got two
teeth coming in on the bottom, so if you put your finger in her mouth, it hurts.

February 7 - Talented Baby
Kristen has gotten really good at sitting up by herself. She has also
been spending time practicing the piano and is coming along quite well.
And just today I noticed that she has her first tooth coming in (which could be
the cause of some of her fussing,) but she's happy most of the time.

January 30 - Five Months Old
Time has been flying by! Kristen is now five months old and Bret is
nearing the end of his busy season. There hasn't been anything exciting
going on which is why there hasn't been an update recently. When Bret is
done we will be going to Fresno to visit some family members who are moving to
Virginia and Georgia and to see the new babies that have been born.
Kristen is still as happy as can be and always brings a smile to our faces.

January 8 - Happy New Year
We had a great New Year's and enjoyed having Daddy home with us, but now
we're back to reality. Kristen went to the doctor and got her second set
of shots, but she was a tough little girl and hardly cried. She now weighs
15 lbs. and of course everything in her hands goes straight into her mouth.
